How to use it

1. Turn it on

   On their profile, tap 🛡 at the top right → “Keep your distance for a while”. You can also use ⋮ at the top right of a Signal conversation, long-press their notification in the notification list, or long-press 👁 on their row in the Warp list. In an anonymous conversation (Step Signal), use ⋮ → “Fade out conversations under this name” → [Soft block].

2. What happens while it’s on

   You stop getting notifications from them (Sparks, messages, Ignite and so on). Your last-online time freezes for them at the moment you turned it on, so you look as if you haven’t logged in since. They also see your profile and photos as they were then (photos you replace later aren’t visible to them). They’re never told.

3. Sending stops too

   Until you turn it off, you can’t send them anything either (messages, Sparks, Ignite and so on). If you try, you’ll be asked whether to turn it off.

4. The list, and turning it off

   the My Page tab → “Settings” → “Shield Center” → “🚫 Block management” → the [🌙 Soft-blocked] switch at the top. After 30 days it shows up under “Waiting for your check”, where you choose [Continue] or [Turn off] (it stays on until you choose). When you turn it off, they see the current you again, and anything they sent meanwhile appears as unread.

How many people you can soft block at once

Good to know

• A block hides you from each other and stops all contact. With a soft block, they keep seeing a frozen version of you and don’t notice.
• When you reach the limit, turn off an existing soft block or move up a rank to add a new one.
• People you soft block don’t appear in your Secret Filter or Hidden search results.
