How to use it

1. Write your own private intro (optional)

   Write it in the My Page tab → “Basic profile” → “Step Signal intro (private)”. This text isn’t shown on your profile; it’s only used for Hidden search matching. Once you write it, other people can find you with Hidden search.

2. Search by words

   In the Discovery tab → 🔍 (Search) at the top right → the second tab “Hidden search”, enter words and tap [Hidden search]. Each search is 2–50 characters, with up to 5 words separated by spaces. People who match any of them are listed, nearest first.

3. Reach out anonymously

   Tap [Step Signal] on a card, choose the name you’ll use in this conversation (any ID), and send. Your name and photos aren’t shown to them either. You stay anonymous until you both choose to reveal.

Counts by rank

Good to know

• Viewing the next page of results doesn’t count as a search.
• If you don’t want to be found by Hidden search, turn off the My Page tab → “Settings” → “Shield Center” → “🔍 Show in search” → “Hidden search”.
• People you have a block or soft block with don’t appear in the results.
• Result cards show only the matching words — not the intro itself, and not the distance.
